FAQ

If you have a question about selling your car to us that is not addressed below you can give us a call on 01243 914915 or alternatively you can email us.

1. How do I sell my car to you?

Selling your car to us is straightforward and easy.

Firstly enter your registration and click on the 'Value my car' button. Enter your contact details and a few additional details including the current mileage of your car and a brief description of the condition.

If you are local we will arrange an appointment for an inspection of your car where a valuation will be calculated based on the vehicle condition, mileage, paperwork and current market prices.

We are then able to quote you the best possible price. If we can come to you this appointment will take place at a time and place convenient to you.

Appointments take usually no more than 20 minutes.

2. Can I come to you?

Yes. Give us a call on 01243 914915 so we can fix a date and time and you can come to see us at our Chichester office. If you wish to go ahead on the day we will be happy to give you a lift back home if you are local.

3. What happens at an appointment?

We will meet you at a time and location which is convenient to you. At your appointment, a full inspection will be carried out to check your car and it will be taken for a test drive.

The car's exterior will be inspected to assess any imperfections.

We will check the condition of your car’s interior condition, ensuring that all the important electrics are working such as windows, heater, A/C and lights. We will also check to see that none of the dashboard warning lights remain on when the engine is started.

The engine will need to be started to make sure it’s running properly. We do not buy non runners.

We will then confirm our valuation to you.

The valuation process usually takes just 20 minutes.

Once we have provided our valuation you can decide, without any obligation if you would like to proceed and sell to us.

If you do decide to sell your car to us we will arrange for the money to be paid into your bank account, complete necessary paperwork and complete the sale.

The whole process from start to finish is usually no more than an hour.

4. If I wish to sell how soon do you take the car?

We can take your car once the sale has completed and the funds are in your account if you are local or we can arrange a free collection if you are further away.

5. Are there any fees or charges?

No. You receive 100% of our valuation into your bank account.

6. When do I receive payment and how do you pay?

Instant payment on the day of your appointment if you are local to us. On the date of collection if you are further afield. We will not take your car until you have confirmed the cleared funds have arrived.

We only pay by instant bank transfer.

7. How long is your valuation valid for?

Our valuations are valid for 7 calendar days.

8. I have outstanding finance. Can I still sell?

Yes. We can buy cars with outstanding finance and can arrange settlement of any outstanding finance on your car on your behalf.

In order for us to be able to do this, we will need you to provide a settlement figure from your finance company dated within 7 days.

This settlement amount will then be deducted from the amount paid to you for your car.

If you owe more on your finance than the value of the car, we will still be happy to buy the car, but you will need to pay us the shortfall by bank transfer when we purchase your car.

9. Road Tax and Private Plates?

Any full months of road tax will by refunded by the DVLA when they are notified that you have sold your car to us.

If you have a private plate it's easy to reassign it to another car or to put the registration onto a retention certificate so that it can be sold or reassigned at a later date. You would need to complete this process with the DVLA. Please visit the DVLA website for more information.

You are also free to leave the plate on the vehicle if you wish.

10. Do you buy imports?

No. We only buy cars originally registered in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

11. I don't have the V5. Can I still sell to you?

In certain cases we will buy cars that do not have a V5 registration document (log book) subject to other relevant ownership checks.

Part payment may be withheld until we have all documentation and equipment that pertains to the vehicle we are buying should this be to follow.

12. The V5 is not in my name and / or at my address

The V5 document confirms the details of the registered keeper of the car. Therefore we can only purchase a car from you if it is your name and address on the V5 document. This is to prevent fraud.

If you wish to sell your car and there is a valid explanation as to why you are not the registered keeper or the address is incorrect, please contact us with full details to see if we can help.
